Mulder and Scully search for mistletoe. Are they successful?
One of the great things about northern hemisphere TV show is the ubiquitous Christmas episode.
The X-Files avoided it for a great many years until Season 4 of its run when it had a two part episode Christmas Carol and Emily which is a bit of a downer.
It’s not until two years later that we get an iconic X-Files Christmas episode – How The Ghost Stole Christmas. Season 6 is one of my favourite seasons of 1990s TV classic. It is the first season after the feature film and the first filmed in California after half a decade in Canada.
This episode brings out the big gun guest stars with Lily Tomlin and Ed Asner as the eponymous ghosts. This is a delightful episode with the edgy chills, humour, wit and a touch of the good ole ‘unresolved sexual tension’ between Mulder and Scully which helped make the series such great fun for the first seven years of its nine year run.
