I attended my first writers conference this weekend, the Readers & Writers Down Under event held in the resort suburb of Surfers Paradise in my home city of the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia
It is our city’s biggest literary event attracting more than 100 authors from around the world and an equal number of bloggers. Friday’s conference day was jam-packed with interesting speakers including keynote speaker, New York Times best-selling author Kristen Ashley, other many other successful Australian authors across a number of genres.
Saturday was an almost overwhelming day with a mass signing with 100 authors and I would estimate about 300-400 book bloggers and readers came through the doors during the day.
Last night was the gala awards and after party. Authors were up for various people’s choice awards – all voted by readers and fans…
… And Warrior’s Surrender won People’s Choice for Best Historical Fiction!
Thank you to everyone who voted for Sebastian and Alfreya’s story.
Other good news is I have a limited number of print edition right here in my hot little hands. If you would like a inscribed copy with a personal message from me, please do let me know by e-mail – author@box5218.temp.domains – and I can organise a price that covers shipping.
